Is there a way to see deleted saved tickets?

I am wondering if the app stores a record of deleted saved tickets? In other words, if an order has been entered in the system but deleted before the payment is made in the system?

Hi @toybox, welcome to the Seller Community and thanks for bringing this up.

At this time, there isn't a way to view deleted Open Tickets from the Square app. In the meantime, you can prevent employees from deleting tickets by using the Employee Management permissions to restrict their access to this capability.

Please don't hesitate to reply with any other insight! 🙂

Hi @madmommom. Thanks for your post.

You should feel empowered to do what is best for your business - and we understand that you will. We field thousands of feature requests each week here on the Seller Community, and bringing these features to fruition often takes an ample amount of time and effort from our engineers. We want to ensure that our releases are not just surface level products, but the best all-around resources to help you grow your business.

If you choose to stay with Square, we will be sure to update you when there is further information to share in regards to this feature.

@Joe

We are also feeling the frustration @madmommom has.  We have field tested your product for you and provided you with details regarding several large security holes.  The fact that you continue to call these "Feature Requests" shows that you do not understand the issue.  They are major security threats to our business, not "nice to have" feature requests.  While Square will work just fine for tiny mom and pop businesses where only the owners touch the Square cash registers, your product is a security nightmare for slightly larger businesses like ours, where we need to trust employees to use the Square cash registers without our supervision.  Does Square really want to limit itself to only the small mom and pop market?  We did over $1.5M in CC transactions last year, but we are now feeling that we may have outgrown Square, as you are unwilling to address security issues that directly affect our bottom line.  Without the ability to access a record of deleted tickets, deleted items, etc (even if it were just command line or a text file, that would work!), and with ticket timestamps that change every time you simply look at the ticket (its like the Heisenberg Principle), you create an inviting environment for employees to easily steal from their employer.  Businesses should be able to trust their POS software takes these security threats seriously rather than just lumping them with "Feature Requests".

We too have been frustrated by the lack of action. This is not a minor issue, it is a MAJOR security problem and we have been waiting years now for it to be addressed. It has not been and we have recently begun to look for a replacement POS/Credit Card processing solution. I am very frustrated because Square simply refuses to acknowledge the issue and we are otherwise satisfied with the service.

There should be a simple option to prevent deletion of items off tickets or to delete open tickets without removing all other rights that operators need to conduct legitimate transactions. A  code should need to be entered to delete items from tickets or delete open tickets. If that is too difficult, then how about simply an accessible log of all deleted tickets with time and datestamp. WE NEED SOME LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY.
