How to create processing time after a hair color service?

I just downloaded and set my Square appointment app. But as a hairdresser, I am able to take a client while my other client is processing after applying her color. Is there a way to have a gap of free time after a color service? or do i have maually do it myself?

We have launched this to production and you are now able to add processing time to your appointments. For information check out our Product Update:

 

Create a Service with processing times

 

  1. Navigate to the Items tab of your online Square Dashboard.
  2. Select Service Library > Create Service.
  3. Under Duration toggle on Add Processing time.
  4. Click on the Processing Time Duration field and select the duration of your processing time.
  5. Once you’re done creating your service, click Save

Hey @Bach thanks for the feedback! We know it has been a while and we are actively working on releasing as many feature requests as we can, but sometimes they do take time. I checked with our product teams for you and they did confirm this is on their radar and are working on a solution.

hoping that function will be releasing very soon as we’ve been waiting for a long time and because of this, we are not using  the app atm especially online booking for customers.
Btw, if the app got one more option for inventory stock taking such as”Internal Use” that will be great!

Any updates on the availability of this feature? 
im desperately wanting to use the online booking feature but can’t do so until this works. Been waiting literally 3 years..... 😞

I hear ya and understand how important this feature is for your salon. With that said, I'm afraid there's nothing new to report as of yet, but we'll be sure to update this thread when this feature becomes available.

I'd really like this feature as well. It's a major downside and causes a lot of confusion and doesnt allow me to streamline things with my employees.

I’m also a hair stylist and would love to use appointments (and subscribe to marketing and customer loyalty features!). However, not having the options to offer service packages that allow bookable processing time is THE deal breaker for me. I’ve been processing credit cards through Square for years and would love to switch over completely. 

I feel your pain as I’ve been using square to checkout for years and they just kept saying this function is coming soon but no timeframe so...I don’t think they care much about hairdressing industry as that one single feature is not that difficult to add on as I know. There’s many other competitors nowadays already has that setup from the get go before put it out to the market.

We appreciate you directing these concerns to the proper department. I do just want to throw a little nugget on top of this. I called customer service in late February of 2019 and asked about this feature and was told that they were “currently working on it” and it would “be available soon, DEFINITELY WITHIN A YEAR” So that’s mostly the source of my frustration. I’ve been hearing that same answer for a year. 

again, I really do appreciate you getting this ball rolling! You have lots of customers that will very much appreciate it. 

We are now going into February 2020 very soon so , the  “DEFINITELY WITHIN A YEAR” answer ...will see , as we are all hearing this same answer for million times in three years.  We don’t get frustration anymore as our own team will only give this another couple more months to go . Good luck for you all hairdressers and beauticians.
