Is there any plan to add Appointments to the Square Register?

I'm working with a client on setting up Square POS, they really like the Square Register but the lack of the Appointments function is crippling.  It would make everything so simple if they could just tap an appointment in the calendar and take the payment via the Square Register.  It's really a neat piece of hardware and for someone walking in the door it's an impressive transaction process.

But I am having a really difficult time figuring out how to give the customer the Register experience, while using Square Appointments to book services.

So my question is, does Square have ANY plans to add the capability to check out people with existing reservations via the Square Register, or is pure retail POS your only concern with that device?

I'm dropping in to announce that as of today, Square Appointments is available for use on the Square Register! 🎉

Note: Square Appointments on Square Register does not feature Square Loyalty at this time. We recommend either using the Square Appointments app to checkout customers or using Square Point of Sale on your Square Register to access your Loyalty Program.

Hello,  I'm owner of massage therapy salon, we purchased square register but that's not support appointment system. Is it any updates when that's gonna be available on square register? That's will help us a lot

Sorry to day, but there's no news to report on this yet but we'll keep you posted here when Square Appointments is available on the Register.

In my shop, I have the new square register but I can't take apportionments on it,  I have to use my computer, can I set it for the appointment?

I've gone ahead and merged your post into an existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for information in regards to the  Appointments feature and the Square Register. As of now, this is considered a Feature Request, although we hope to be able to share some good news on this front soon!

I bought the register thinking this is an all in one console but i still must use my ipad along side it for appointments. Please update the software to include appointments! It would be a simple update.

I bought the Square register and I love it! My only complaint is that it doesn’t have Square appointments! This makes it very hard to use square appointments because I have to basically have an iPad along with my register to use it. Has anyone found a better way to handle this?

Return the old register and buy the one with the IPad.  1 because square does not move fast with updates like the one you want and 2 because it’s convenient to have an iPad as your register.  Many apps control my space and having that at my front desk people’s fingertips is very helpful. 
I was mad about it but they handled the return fast and now I like this one better.
