Feature Request: Allow customers to pay for third-party delivery orders using Square Gift Cards

The ability to enter a Square Gift Card as a payment option has disappeared from the checkout for delivery in my online store.  It is still an option when the customer selects Pickup.

This has worked flawlessly for weeks now, but suddenly disappeared.  How do I get it back?  All of my delivery orders are paid for by Gift Card!

Yes, Square Gift Cards can now be used on In-House and On-Demand delivery orders! ✨

Do you mean for Square Online? If so, they'll have the opportunity to use the gift card within the checkout process:

However, please note that gift cards are currently not accepted is a payment form for delivery orders through Square Online.

when will this be an option - we have many clients sitting with gift cards that they cannot use as we are a business that does our own deliveries (i.e. not via a 3P) has this been escalated with your Square online engineers?  It is real problem as you can see with this thread.

It's been two weeks since my last post about making it easy for customers to use their gift cards for online orders for which they've selected "delivery" as the fulfillment method.  Has there been any progress in adding "add my gift card" to the checkout screen for delivery orders?

Do you know when gift cards will be available to use for delivery again? Customers used to be able to redeem their gift cards through online checkout, and now they cannot. We only deliver and have a number of customers that have purchased gift cards. Please advise.

This is a major issue for small businesses right now in the pandemic. Our customers deserve better than this. Covid-19 has put businesses in the position to fully adapt to new conditions for work environments, and for the food industry, delivery options are the only way many of us are able to keep our businesses up and running. Customers purchased gift cards as holiday gifts etc, and the recipient's, unable to utilize the cards. I'm always happy to cover clients order's when there are technical / coding flukes such as this one, however another issue presents itself. As you know-- the way Square works, businesses only receive the balance of the gift cards purchased once they are activated and redeemed. That means no matter what, it's a lose lose for both the customer and the business, and results in a variety of financial complications. This issue has been actively affecting customers for months now, and it doesn't seem that complicated to fix. Please address this ASAP, and help set your users up for success during this trying time.

Can you tell me how my customer redeem her gift card online? The gift card column is missing!!

When she input the 16-digit number in the credit card column, it asked for expiration date?!

Our engineers are actively working on supporting the use of Square Gift Cards when placing orders for delivery on Square Online websites. We'll be sure to post an update to this thread as soon as we have one to share, @jade714!
