Feature Request: Permanently remove images uploaded to the image gallery of my website

The title of this post has been edited from the original: Removing images from my images on website editor

Is it possible to remove images that I do not plan to use on my website after having uploaded them to my images?  I have a number of images I no longer plan to use and am hoping to do a cleanup so I do not post any of these by mistake.

Thanks,

Max

Thank you for letting us know that we can upload as many images as we like. However this still forces us into having to filter through and micro manage images that should be or need to be removed.I hope,we hope this feature request is taken seriously. Not being able to remove images is unheard of on any site. It sounds like you're asking about the images displayed within the pop-up that appears when you go to add an image to a Photo gallery within your website editor, @allium:

If so, there is currently not a way to prevent previously uploaded photos from appearing within this pop-up box. Please let me know if this isn't quite what you were asking about!

Yes I need to be able to delete images. I had to edit and re-upload a banner to get it it fit right now I have 5 of them I need to get rid of. Make a trashcan pleeeeeease!

Just found this thread because I couldn't find out how to delete images or organize them in Weebly/Square. OMGoodness I wish I had known prior to paying for the updated web software!! I looked at reviews. I didn't see anything about this issue. It is outrageous and I waste so much time trying to figure out & sort through all the images I uploaded!! Now I see this thread started over a year ago.

Pretty PLEASE update software for images!!!

This is really disturbing to me. Not only old and unwanted images, but I have not found a way to remove old files either. Seems like Weebly/Square would want these old files & images removed to save server space???

My wife and I just started a trial using Square to host our website, moving from WIX.  Now, just a few hours into building out our pages, we ran into the inability to remove images from the library.  It's inconceivable that there's no way to delete unwanted or unused images, especially when resizing may be needed to find the right image size for a particular item.  We were very excited yesterday when we discovered the possibility of using Square for hosting, since our inventory is already available here, but this is a complete show-stopper going forward.  Has nobody ever figured out a way to manage the photo library effectively here?  Do the site developers not care to help find a solution?

I guess we may have to go back into the market to find a more suitable host after all.  It certainly isn't worth trying to fight the photo library problem forever.

LATER EDIT:  We spent about an hour on the phone with Square tech support regarding this issue.  In the midst of that conversation, she sent us an email that said the following:

"We don’t have a customer-facing file management system for the Square Online site editor that allows you to delete files on your own. If you know the specific names of any files you’d like deleted, reply back with the list of file names and I’ll be happy to delete the files for you."

So we did as she asked, sent an email with the filenames of a dozen photos we wished to delete, and she was able to delete them manually on her backend of the system.  It is extremely clunky and onerous for both us and them, so it seems like something Square/Weebly ought to sort out for everyone's benefit.

M y solution is to use Etsy for my store and link to it from my Square site:

CoastalTuenings.com

Etsy has a better store, Square has a reasonable web site offering

I agree with @flyinghorse & @allium - this feature should definitely be available. The first time I added pictures to my image gallery for the site I used my phone and didn't realize until I was about to actually add them to the website that a few photos had accidentally ended up in the "back office" image gallery. I know that the public can't see these but I agree it adds clutter. - Marissa
