Hi,

 

We quickly built a Square/Weebly Online Store this week so that people could place contactless/curbside orders for our gelato shop. It's working great and I love that the tickets print out when it's time to make the order.

 

We are also implementing a local delivery service where people can preorder with us and we'll deliver it on Friday night. Right now we're doing it by email to take their item order and we respond back with a Square Invoice to capture payment. Has anyone successfully found a way to do local delivery with the Online Store platform?

 

It would be awesome if besides Pickup or Shipping, merchants could toggle on a Local Delivery button and the merchant could set a few options, such as "Delivery on Friday night, 4-7pm," "Delivery on Saturday afternoon, 12-6pm." Maybe with an option to assign a fee, but that's less important during this emergency response.

We are currently testing Batch Processing in our Beta Community, which may help you out. This is another update to allowing pre-orders on your online store.  We'd love for you to join in the test and provide feedback.

 

To get started:

Please join our Square Online testing group.
Once accepted there are instructions in the group of how to get started in the test.

Wanted to update you all and let you know that scheduled deliveries are now an option on the Checkout page for Square Online! 👏

We've updated the Support Center article for Local Delivery as well here for reference.

 

Right now the option will be on the actual Checkout page but will soon also be available in the cart itself.

@JustinC Hey, has there been any update on this feature request? We've actually been shopping other companies that seem to have this capability. I'd like to keep our store with Weebly and Square, but lacking this feature and lacking the delivery scheduling feature is starting to make it tough for our business.

I'm not seeing any changes in the settings. These appear the be exactly the same as before. People can schedule a pick-up for a future time/date, but not a delivery.

 

Nor can we specify a delivery date/pick up time for a future date (like a one-day event, as previously mentioned in this thread). Am I missing something?

check out third party app called OrderSpoon. We are using it and it works great. We gave up on Square/Weebly order processing. customers are 'forced' to select a set pickup/delivery date and time within set hours in the admin panel. We are still using the Weebly site as a homepage. Check out OrderSpoon by clicking on the 'order now' button on our homepage at www.plantcakesbakeshop.com. Orders are processed through OrderSpoon and feed seamlessly over to Square. We use a kitchen printer to print out orders in Square. Our sales have increased dramatically since converting order processing to OrderSpoon and  customer confusion with placing orders has gone away.

You have to add it to your settings on delivery options, then once they check out they can select delivery date.

This should be under > Order Timing Settings. You might be looking under Delivery (which makes sense) but this is where these new settings are under.

Thanks for the tip! Question for you-- we do food delivery for events, so lots of people are ordering and having it all delivered at the same time. Does Orderspoon let you lock and set the delivery day for a specific date in the future? Like, a month ahead of time?

Yes! OrderSpoon as an option called 'order later time limit'. It drives how far out customers can place future date orders. We have ours set at 60 days.

I saw a thread that pre-sales are possible with the WooCommerce extension/plug-in but wondering if the ability to do pre-sales was included in the next upgrade/online store/Weebly roll-out?
