Feature Request: Create packages including multiple services via Square Appointments

The title of this post has been edited from the original: How to schedule multi packs with Square Appointments?

Hoping to find some help here.  We offer a service that clients can pay for and book appointments online. Great. The problem is that there are discounted packages if multiple treatments are purchased at one time, if this option is chosen, the client is only able to schedule one appointment as opposed to multiple separate appointments for each of the treatments they purchase.  Is there a way to make this work? Thanks in advance.

Re: Create Recurring Invoices in the Square App

Hello @coriumesthetics!

As a workaround you could use recurrning invoices with Square Appointments for a package, and view the number of invoices remaining in the series. However, you can't images to a recurring invoice series, I'm sorry!

Another workaround is to create a single service for package deals you offer but you'd need to track the number of sessions completed manually. You could ask customers to contact you directly for packages, and then schedule each session in the package deal as a separate appointment to ensure clients are charged for each session.

I'm adding your post to this thread where other sellers are interested in using Appointments to create and manage packages. We'll update the status to give you a heads up about any developments on this feature request.

As for your question about marketing by text - you might like to subscribe to this separate thread for updates!

Re: How to schedule multi packs in appointments

Yep! While we don't have a way to automatically apply discounts when customers book more than one service, you can create bundles as individual services. For example if you are a personal trainer, you can list 5 sessions at the discounted price as one appointment.

When your customer comes in for their first appointment, you then can manually book their next, or all upcoming, appointments through your Appointments Dashboard. In your client information section of Dashboard you have the ability to add notes and view past appointments so you can keep track of their remaining appointments even if the schedule one at a time!

No update just yet, @musePMU!

We'll do our best to remember to post an update here in this thread when we hear news about changes related to this feature request, so be sure to subscribe to this thread to be notified of new posts.

I am also in need of a package feature that can track used sessions.  Please, please, please!!

I sell service time in bulk and allow customers to split up that time. If I sell 5 hours worth of time, is there a way to only book 1 hour while the customer maintains a credit of 4 hours?

Does it make sense that DoorDash integration was released prior to support for packages? The community has been asking for packages for a long time. Many who use DoorDash will not utilize the integration since the tips are given entirely to DoorDash drivers. Given the amount of discussion on the board around these two topics, I'm surprised that DoorDash was prioritized.

Based upon the amount of time that the community has been asking for support for packages, I believe we're due a clear answer. Is support for packages coming? Has it been approved for development? If not, what can we do to obtain that approval? We know your "tracking" it, but what metrics are you using to make the decision to finally move forward?

Thanks for bringing attention back to that feature request, @aline

There are a lot of factors that determine what feature requests are taken up and which are not; some of which are visible to sellers (such as how long people have been asking, how many people, etc), and some are internal. Collectively, though, it makes it difficult to answer a question about why something hasn't been added. Are you referring to creating packages for Appointments? Are you using our Doordash integration to deliver items in conjunction with appointments? It would help to know what you're trying to do.

Thanks for your question, @CoachMax

Your biz model could probably could be solved by pre-paid packages, which is on our 2021 roadmap. e.g., as a seller i want to create and sell a package (pack of 5 massages), and allow buyers to redeem against them in upcoming appointments.

Hang tight, we'll make a launch announcement on this thread I moved you to when it becomes available

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your reply. I've read the post that you linked to many times with the hopes of seeing an update. My reply on this discussion was off topic as we don't use Door Dash. I was hoping to make a point that there are many Square users who would appreciate being able to sell packaged services. I understand that one feature will require more internal work than others, but there are many of those who are in the spa industry (and others) who are moving to other platforms to support packaged services.

Selfishly, I was hoping that we wouldn't have to move platforms. As I said, I've read the discussion you linked to in your reply, but any suggestions or "work arounds" offered in that thread are far too complicated or time consuming to make them workable.

@JustinC  Thank you for your reply! The fact that this is on the roadmap for 2021 is great news.

I just read on that thread an update from two weeks ago that this feature is on the roadmap for 2021. That's great news!
