A lay-by function is 1 million percent needed , it’s terrible without it , trying to run a professional business, and back tracking to carbon copy books for lay-bys
I’d like to add my vote for a Lay-by feature. Many of our customer prefer to pay with this method, which has regained popularity over the last few years. We would also use this method for custom orders, with a deposit at time of order and balance on completion, unless there is a better way of doing it. We are just setting up, so would appreciate any suggestions on handling both Lay-bys and orders. We also don’t want to limit them to a set time frame for full payment.
One of our reasons for moving to this system was to be rid of paperwork on the counter!
Any update on a layby function? It's a very common method of payment in retail businesses, rather baffling it's not already an option in "Square for Retail".
A lay-by feature isn't currently in the works, but we're continuing to pass your suggestions on to our team. In the meantime, you can use the Square App to create a payment plan via Square Invoices, which allows you to break a payment into multiple instalments and is more flexible than Afterpay.
