Hi all
When we go to enter an over payment the square register will not allow us to do that either on card or with cash, any way around this?
Example
Bill comes to £45.00 customer wants to pay £50 by card and the balance is taken from the till in cash and placed in the tip fund
Regards

Hey @NickHunter! Thank you for your post, this is a great question.
The Square Register isn't technically built to take over payments, such as the scenario you've described above. However, you could try adding a variably priced item to your customer's bill to bring up the bill to the desired amount.
To create a variably priced item, follow the same steps to create an item but leave the amount field blank. This allows you to enter an amount during a sale. The amount you enter will be applied to the current transaction and will not save to the item in your library; each sale amount for the item will remain unique.
Hope this helps!

That's gonna get you into trouble with your accountant!
Why not just enable tips? Then everything will be tracked as it should and all your accounting and VAT will be in order.

Thanks, @Sam_400º, enabling tips is also a great idea!
If you decide to go down that route @NickHunter, you can enable tips by following the steps in our Accept Tips with the Square App article in our support centre.
Let me know if you need anything else!
