Apply Pay Error - "Selected Shipping no longer avaliable"

A customer has tried to purchase a product from the website using apple pay on their iPad and iPhone (on safari), but after checkout their order is cancelled and they are given the error message: "selected shipping method is no longer available, please select a new shipping method."

The shipping has worked before, therefore I believe it is an error with apple pay, as this is the first order we have received using apple pay.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Many Thanks!

Thanks for flagging this @Liomski! I haven't seen this error previously so I will need to take a further look on my end here and check with our ECOM specialist team as well. If possible, can you let me know:

  • Is the item the customer tries to purchase priced at £1.00 or higher?
  • Is there only one shipping options or are there multiple shipping options for your product?
  • Was the customer trying to pay with Apple Pay directly on the item page or when they were clicking into the cart icon?
  • Was the customer able to complete the transaction by entering their card details manually?

All this will really help us to investigate the issue on our side!

@tranguyen ,

- The Item was £10.00

- The shipping options available is free shipping on products over £25, and £2.95 on those under that amount. (we also have pickup and local delivery)  But in terms of timeframes there is not multiple options.

- They tried to pay directly on the item page

- When customers enter card details manually we have no issues, this has worked many times before. Only with ApplePay did we get these issues.

Thank you for your time 😄

Thanks so much for all the details @Liomski! Hmm, I'm unable to replicate this on my end but I've escalated this to our ECOM team so they can have a further look into this and see whether this is an issue on our end or not.

Once I have an update from the team, I'll be sure to follow up right away on this thread.

Hey @Liomski, I just want to follow up on this here.

From chatting with the team, it looks like when customer try to pay with Apple Pay on the item page directly, Apple Pay will try to default to free shipping. If free shipping is not an option (like in this case, for example), the error can occur.

After testing it a few times on our end, what we notice is that if we give it a minute for Apple Pay to load the shipping rules on a particular website, we were able to checkout without an issue as the system would have default to the right shipping rates you've setup.

This may not be the most ideal experience but customer may need to give a minute for the shipping rates to load up when paying with Apple Pay to make sure they can check out with the right rates.

Thanks for letting me know! I can still see the Apple Pay button when viewing the website in Safari.

If you are not seeing this, it's worth making sure:

  • Your Safari is up to date
  • Apple Pay is setup on your device

Hmm, that's quite strange. I've tested again on my end and Apple Pay is still coming up as an option for me. In order to see this, it's really important that the customers use Safari as their browser (and not Chrome or any other browser) and that Apple Pay is fully setup on their new device as well.

Hi,  user has safari and fully installed apple pay which is used frequently.  She has tried again after releasing the website again and is gone through.  Thank you for your help
