I'm trying to set up an account but everything is set to United States.

Please help. I thought I almost had my account set up, but it doesn't give me the option to set up square payments because it wants a US social security number and US zip code. Everything is in USD. But I am in Lincolnshire UK. I can't find anyway to change the currency/default country.

Do you use apple/safari or any type of VPN? 

My browser now defaults to US and sounds like yours might have too - it can happen. 

Check the address has the /gb/ bit in there - https://squareup.com/gb/en


As this is so specific to you and your account I'd recommend giving Square a call to chat, as this is a seller to seller community

Hi @ChristinaBug, thanks for your post. I'm sorry to hear that. It looks like you signed through the US link. Only US accounts require US social security number and US zip code. We cannot change the country on the account. Please sign up again using this link. You will need to use another email address. However, if you wish to use the same email address, you can ring our support team (0800 098 8008) and have your email address disassociated from the US account.
