Does Square scan/take image of credit card with online e-commerce integration?

Kind of crazy, but have to ask.  Running Ecwid with Square as integrated payment provider.

A customer claims she was making a purchase from her Android phone, an LG G7 and when she went to enter credit card details a scanner/camera feature popped up wanting to take an image of her card (front and back).  She also claims it then populated the fields.  Hilarious thing is the purchase was never completed and ended up as multiple abandoned carts.

Based on a phone conversation with her, I'm inclined to think it is simply just her and some, well, whatever is going on with her. She says she doesn't have LG Pay installed on the phone.

Does anyone know if Square has any feature like this? I haven't seen it, can't replicate it, don't have a clue, but ultimately here is someone who thinks weird stuff happened on our site.

Thanks in advance.

@PurpleMoose

Hey there,

We use the everything from Square and I can say that Square does not yet at this time uses the camera for any sort of payments.

It might be Ecwid side of the app that uses that feature and processes the information with Square for processing.

Thank you for replying.  Possibly an Ecwid thing, trying to confirm although if it is, that isn't right given that portion of the page should really be secured by Square and not messed with by anyone else.  Thanks again!
