HOW TO > Add a Signature to Your Posts

Hello...

Below captured screens show you how to add a basic or more complex signature to all of your Weebly posts.
I've included different HTML code boxes below for alternative choices.

> Click on your USERNAME in the upper right-hand corner and then SETTINGS (see below).

If image doesn't load... refresh your browser, F5. Otherwise try again later.

> Below is a basic signature where you type what you want in the signature box and click on the SAVE button (no links or HTML tags).

If image doesn't load... refresh your browser, F5. Otherwise try again later.

> Below captured screen shows you how to add signatures with website links using HTML tags (code).

> Scroll downward for 3 different HTML codes that you can; copy, edit and paste into your signature area.

If image doesn't load... refresh your browser, F5. Otherwise try again later.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Highlight and copy the signature code that you want to use (scroll downward).
  2. I recommend pasting and saving the code into a Word document or a text file so you can edit it.
  3. Add your information to the coding by replacing the verbiage I entered (eg: YourNameHere, WebsiteLinkHere or WebsiteNameHere).
  4. SAVE your Word document or text file.
  5. Highlight, copy and paste your coding into the Weebly signature box (see captured screens below).
  6. Be sure to click-on the SAVE button towards the bottom.
  7. Look at one of your posts to see if your signature is diplaying correctly.

SIGNATURE #1 (one website and link):

<p><font face="arial,sans-serif" size="4">Sincerely, YourNameHere
<strong><a href="http://WebsiteLinkHere" target="_blank">WebsiteNameHere</a></strong></a></font></p>

SIGNATURE #2 (two website names and links):

<p><font face="arial,sans-serif" size="4">Best Regards, YourNameHere
<strong><a href="http://FirstWebsiteLinkHere" target="_blank">FirstWebsiteNameHere</a> |
<a href="http://SecondWebsiteLinkHere" target="_blank">SecondWebsiteNameHere</a></strong></a></font></p>

SIGNATURE #3 (two lines with different size fonts | one website and link):

<p><font face="arial,sans-serif" size="4">YourNameHere
</font></p>
<p><font face="arial,sans-serif" size="2"><strong>
<a href="http://WebsiteLinkHere" target="_blank">WebsiteNameHere</a></strong></a></font></p>

PLEASE NOTE WHEN USING HTML TAGS:

  1. Your signature cannot exceed 48 pixels high or 100 pixels wide (view Erin's post).
  2. Make sure that when you paste your website's URL into any of the SIGNATURE codes provided above, that only ONE (http://) is in the line... not two (http://http://).
  3. If you're trying to have multiple lines in your signature then try changing the SIZE parameter from "4" to "3" (lowest = "1").
  4. I can save some of your time by suggesting not to make your signature with too many lines (4 or more).
  5. Three lines will work if you use a smaller font size but you cannot type out a novel (size="3" or less).
  6. You'll have the least amount of problems if you limit your signature to one or two lines when using HTML tags.
  7. I recommend letting your website do the "talking" instead of having a lot of verbiage in your signature line(s).

HAVING PROBLEMS (and, you're convinced that I have no clue what I'm talking about)?

  1. If you've tried several times to get your signature line to work and it just won't comply with your wishes because you live in the Bermuda Triangle (eg: part of your signature lines disappear, airplanes vanish, computer screens go blank, etc)... then send a Private Message to me with the details.
  2. Include how you'd like your signature to look and any website links.
  3. Please allow some time for me to ponder your request... but, I will get back to you in a timely fashion.

OTHER SOURCES:

  1. Take a look at @SusieO's thread to read other related posts (view).
  2. Be sure to take a look at @jaylethbridge and @Heirloom_Angel's signatures which will give you varying ideas.
