How to use Square in a craft show

I am just starting my journey to craft shows and would like to use Square on purchases over a certain amount 

has anyone done this?  Does it work well?

absolutely it will work great.  you'll just need to be on wifi or have a cell connection on your phone and a contactless chip reader

Hi, regarding this topic, do I also need to be logged into the square app?

Do I need to link my square reader to my account somehow before taking a credit card in the reader?

Yes, you will need to be logged into your Square App, and your Square Reader will need to be connected to your Square App.
