How to change price in POS to reflect the sale price listed in Squareup online store

We have an art gallery and frequently have Open Studio events. We use POS for purchases made at the gallery.  We also have a Squareup Online store.  Within the online store we can list an item at a sale price.  BUT on the POS there is no such option.  If I add the sale price as a variation in POS it shows up in the store, if I go to hide the variation in the store it deletes it from the POS.  There has to be a solution.

Hey there @2painters- Thanks for your post!

Had to run this by one of our Online Store specialists. They were able to confirm that this type of compatibility is a feature request. Sorry for the trouble this may cause for you in the mean time. I'm happy to pass this along to our Product Team, though.

Just wanted to say that we are having the same issue with my online shop and POS system. Would love to see sale prices synced across platforms, or at least the option to make them sync.

I agree; it is frustrating that I can set up a price on sale on my online store but cannot with the Point of Sale on the App. Can you please add this alignment?

Yes! Please, make this function available. It’s important for the customer to know the value of the item. “In Store” Customers see the “great deal” they’re getting on the tag. “Online” Customers see the “savings” with Retail and Sale shown side by side on the screen.

As things are now, for “In Store” Sales, I have to go to Item List, change Retail Price to Sale Price, then back to Checkout to enter the Item—while the Customer is standing there, waiting. (At least with customers coming to Appointments only, and no Open House Events this year, I don’t have a big line waiting.) But when Open House Events resume... Argghhh! Help!!

Then, usually after closing, I have to go back to Item List to change Sale Price back to Retail Price—so “Online” Customers see both prices.

In the meantime, for “In Store” Sales, I’m contemplating on replacing the Retail Price with the current/sale price in the Item List—hundreds of items! I’ve made it so the Retail Price can still be seen by the Online Customer, as I’ve entered the Retail Price at the end of the item description—hopefully the “Online” Customer sees it there!
