Pardon the December Roundup coming out a month late! The end of the year vortex and an illness had me out of office, but I am back and ready to give you all the product news you can handle. Here is the monthly roundup of all the new features and product updates posted in the US Seller Community in December 2023.

1. [Improvement] Customer Data Accessibility for Android

🏷 Square Register, Android

We’ve recently improved customer data accessibility on Android for users who use accessibility tools or who need visual assistance. Now you can enable text-to-speech technology (i.e. TalkBack or BrailleBack) to access PII (Personally Identifiable Information).

2. [New] Phone number invitation during team members creation

🏷️ Square Team Management

We’re excited to announce the release of team member setup via SMS invitation! Previously, you could only invite your team members by email– team members could not directly interact with our Team app or the dashboard without accepting that email invitation. The new release improves the team member onboarding flow by enabling invitations to Team members via their phone number, making it more accessible for team members to get up and running into the Square ecosystem during onboarding.

3. [New] Unified 'Team members' and 'Payroll team' lists

🏷️ Square Payroll, Square Team Management

We have been making changes to our system to simplify the way you manage your team members across Team Management and Payroll. We’re happy to announce that the "Team members” and “Payroll team” sections of your Square Dashboard have now been merged into one unified team list. From now on, you will manage all your team member details from the “Team members” section within Team Management.

4. [New] Clock-in Geofencing

🏷️ Square Team Management

We are excited to introduce our newest feature, clock-in geofencing. Available with a Shifts Plus, Retail Plus, Restaurants Plus, and Appointments premium subscription. Managing your team's time is a critical job as a Square seller.  The Square Team app is a convenient way to provide freedom and flexibility to your team members, but ensuring that time is accurate requires time out of your day to review and high trust to ensure team members are being honest about when and where they are clocking in.
