Beta is currently recruiting for Order Creating in Square Point of Sale. With this feature, you can manually create orders in Square Point of Sale and manage them in your Order Manager, along with incoming orders from Square Online Store and/or your delivery partners.
This means you can take orders over the phone or in any other way you communicate with your customers, schedule them for later curbside or in-store pickup, and conveniently manage them inside the Orders menu on Square Point of Sale.
Current known issues/limitations: This beta does not currently support using the Dining Options, and they will need to turned off if enrolling in this beta.
Also, please refrain from removing items from the cart after applying a discount. Currently, your order will not process if you delete any item with a discount applied. We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible and please contact us if you experience this issue.

Hey Jess - Been thinking about this and it might work for me really well, despite what I said before 😂
If it works alongside the other beta stuff can you sign me up - thinking it would be really useful for walk ups to add them into the same process as all the online orders.
When you take an order & put it manually on this - does it take out one of the collection slots that are set in in the online store? (mine is set to 'two orders every 15 minutes)

No - only kerbside - in store. The auto emails can’t be edited.

Hi @tonydow, I'm just stepping in for Jess here - have you been able to create a pickup order from the Square Point of Sale? Until an order is created, Point of Sale won't show up in the order source.

At the moment, the beta is only for creating pickup orders @tonydow. However, you should be able to do this via the free Square for Retail app.

Hi @tonydow, when you are in the Retail app, after you have added an item to checkout, do you see the option to Create Order like in the screenshot below? This should allow you to create a shipping order manually and enter the customer's details as needed.

Hi @tonydow, I've reached out to our Retail specialist to check on this feature. I'll follow-up on this thread once I get more information from them.
With regards to items, you should be able to see all the different items when clicking into the blue Items icon and filter by categories. Alternatively, you can use the Search function to bring up the items you need as well.

Really sorry that this has taken longer than I expected to be resolve, @tonydow! I'm still waiting for some further updates from the team. I hope to have something later today but if not, I'll follow up on this thread and let you know.

Hi @tonydow, apology for the delayed in getting back to you!
From checking in with our team, It looks like it is no longer available on the Square for Retail free app and is only available with the Square for Retail Plus version, which is why you haven't seen the option to create an order from the app. In this case, you can opt in to the free trial for Square for Retail Plus to try out the feature.

I used to see it when I was using the test Android tablet (I still have it BTW....) but can't see it on iOS?
