Howdy! I was wondering if you could refund a purchase to a gift card on Android devices? I didn't see the option on my Galaxy Note. 😞

Hi @TheFreshLoaf. I'm happy to shed some light on your question, as I work directly with our Gift Card's Team as a Product Specialist on our Support Team.
We don't currently have this capablity for Android devices, but it's definitely something we'd like to offer in the future. We know that many of our sellers use Android (not just iOS devices) - so it's important that we serve both groups.
While I can't offer any sort of ETA at this point - your feedback definitely isn't going unoticed!

@Sean I thought I remembered that when it was posted here the other month when it was new but that help article I linked doesn't say that it is iOS only, so that should be updated/corrected.

We've had no problems putting refunds on a gift card with our prior system (stand + iPad), but since we upgraded to the Register it seems like we can only refund back to the original form of payment? Anyone know if we are just missing something, or if this is a known issue? We don't offer refunds, only store credit, and I don't want to mess up inventory or accounting by doing it with another method.

Hey @marleymae - Unfortunately, this feature is only available for iOS devices at this time. However, I've merged your post with a thread on this request in the meantime so that it can be tracked by the Gift Cards team.

I would appreciate this feature being added ASAP. I do not offer "refunds" only Exchange and Store Credit on one of my Square Gift Cards. This has put a wrinkle in streamlining / processing exchanges and gift cards. It definitely would have impacted my decision to upgrade to the square register as soon as I did.
