Hi,

 

We quickly built a Square/Weebly Online Store this week so that people could place contactless/curbside orders for our gelato shop. It's working great and I love that the tickets print out when it's time to make the order.

 

We are also implementing a local delivery service where people can preorder with us and we'll deliver it on Friday night. Right now we're doing it by email to take their item order and we respond back with a Square Invoice to capture payment. Has anyone successfully found a way to do local delivery with the Online Store platform?

 

It would be awesome if besides Pickup or Shipping, merchants could toggle on a Local Delivery button and the merchant could set a few options, such as "Delivery on Friday night, 4-7pm," "Delivery on Saturday afternoon, 12-6pm." Maybe with an option to assign a fee, but that's less important during this emergency response.

We are currently testing Batch Processing in our Beta Community, which may help you out. This is another update to allowing pre-orders on your online store.  We'd love for you to join in the test and provide feedback.

 

To get started:

Please join our Square Online testing group.
Once accepted there are instructions in the group of how to get started in the test.

I just want to know if you can skip the item inventory option all together or place orders in a fulfillment stage with a specific window of opportunity to process the orders for a presale option. My retail business is a hard item not a good service buildout. It would be nice to get some options that would work for my application and assistance in connecting my Facebook and Instagram shop page to it. Currently Square isn’t an option for the Instagram app and it doesn’t work when I try and connect on my account manager page on Facebook.

I would love to see a similar feature!! I take pre-orders as well for university student gifts I deliver to campus on certain dates. Its SO confusing to my customers (parents ordering the gifts for their students) when I have no way to customize the pick-up date no matter how many places I put an explanation on the listing. It shows on the customer receipt and i get constant messages confirming the student pick-up date because I can't customize.

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT A COUPLE IF MONTHS AGO TO DO PRE ORDERING. You must use the categories section to do pre ordering. I’ll give an example of what I do. So I make an item and add it to a certain day category. So if I make tacos on tuesdays I’ll put it in the category for Tuesday pre orders only. Make sure you change your business hours to reflect the category times and it should work. 

From what I can tell, doing time-based listings only allow orders to be made during those times? Am I mistaken? Because I am not a restaurant business, I want to be able to accept orders on my Square site 24 hours a day but for the catagories products to only show as being delivered on one specific date...

We are are traditional, high-volume retailer.  I have literally been asking for this feature for years.  Years.  It's always the same "answer"... "It's on our list of requested features".  It's so silly... this such a basic request.  Instead we get other "features" that maybe target 5% of the base.  The code it so simple, I volunteered to do it myself... for free.  Same with "Wish Lists".  These are bare bones basic eCommerce requirements.

Yes I need this!!!  I'm getting pre-orders for Valentine's Day and there isn't a place for the customer to select delivery date!!!!!  I now have to call all those customers to get Delivery date.  (Not time)!!!!!!!!

This is urgent for me!!!!!!!

Also, 

I own a flower shop and when my customers order online, there is no place for them to add "card message", "Deliver To:” (Recipient name & Address), “Delivery date", or any disclaimers.  I had to add all these fields myself as modifiers ONLINE, and then go into EACH item (I have over 75), manage modifiers, add new modifier, click on new modifier box to add, then move it up to where I want it.  I then have to do this to EACH item!!!!!  There MUST be an easier way to allow order to be the same for ALL ITEMS.

Furthermore, there isn’t any options to add new “Deliver To” person as a new customer to integrate with POS or campaigns.  Many times, the person I “Deliver To”, becomes a new customer.  I have to call them to ask if they’d like to be added to my mailing list, and then manually enter each person as a new customer.

 

Currently, the only workaround, is to leave a modifier where customer can fill in at checkout.  

 

Also, adding new modifier in online dashboard (online), there needs to be a way that when you re-arrange modifier order, it applies to all items!!  I have over 75 items- I have to manually open each one to re-arrange modifier at checkout!!!!

Would LOVE a pre-order option. 

 

My specific use case is with Food ordering. We offer pre-orders for some items for specific days ie. Fish & Chips Fridays. 

 

Also Monthly Or Special Occasion Family Take Out Meals ie. Thanksgiving Take-Out Dinner for 4, Mother's Day, Father's Day.

 

Would be amazing to set date and time range for these to be picked up. Makes ingredient ordering and prep work much simpler and accurate with the least amount of waste. 

 

This would also be a great retail feature for that side of my business. With Golf Equipment pre-orders. Being able to offer an incentive for pre-ordering is very key as well in my opinion. This could simply mean a sale price. 

 

I am about to open a Distillery and collecting pre-orders for our first batches of Whisky would be amazing!
