Inventory Management - Wholesale and Retail Pricing

I have one product with 2 different prices , one wholesale and one retail but i am pulling both from the same inventory.
if for example 10 are pulled from wholesale it doesn't adjust the overall inventory, is this possible?

Re: inventory

Hey @groovy, welcome to the seller community! 👋🏻

Thanks for bringing this up. If I'm understanding your inventory needs correctly, it sounds like you would be able to use the price points feature. For example, if you were to set up different price points for each item labeled as "Retail" and "Wholesale", your inventory would decrease appropriately. Learn more about how to set this up in this article: Item Variants or Price Points.

We've also partnered with a handful of inventory management services who may be able to offer a more customized solution. For more info head over to your App Marketplace > Items & Inventory.

Hope this helps get you where you need to be. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know. In addition, if any other Square sellers who sell products at variable prices have any pro tips to share on this topic—feel free to chime in!

We use a discount % off for items/ transactions when being rung up in person.

During COVID I have created an online coupon code for them to use that will allow them to order their product online with their discount.

For customers that have custom items we use invoices.  This way they can call or email their order in, and I can invoice them. They can choose to pay anyway they like and it helps me keep track of what I have invoiced and when, and also I can use the Square sales reports to track sales of those items.

Hi @21stCR - Check out Tom's post on this thread I moved you to!

How to create a wholesale Items list with in Weebly web site powered by square?

A few people have provided some tips about wholesale items here in this thread!

One option is to use variations, while @AshleyK suggests creating a coupon for wholesale purchases. @pessosices dropped in to suggest that you can choose to create a new Square location specifically for your wholesale items.

An alternative option is to create a new page on your Square Online website, and password protect that specific page. Note: To enable password protection, your website must be on the Professional plan or higher.

I hope one of these suggestions works for you, @robyntomp

This solution wont work. We need retail vs wholesale pricing solutions and not a band aid fix.

I've read both threads, these are not good solutions for business who have retail and wholesale pricing structures. These are band aid solutions we need an actual solution please. Adding a discount to the whole shopping cart doesn't work correctly or efficiently and prone to mistakes. Some items have different price margins for example an apple can sell retail for $5 and $1 wholesale while a pumpkin sells retail for $20 and wholesale for $18. You can't do a flat discount of say 30% to the whole shopping cart because of this. Many other reasons...

Exactly my point. Let’s imagine we have 10 apples.
Customer A buys only 1 apple, with retail price of $10.

Customer B buys 5 apples, with wholesale price can be of $8.

Now we sold 6 apples.

The inventory should be 10-6 = 4 now.

HOW do we do this? We need this!
