Feature Request - Item Packages / Bundles / Grouping

Feature Request - Item Packages / Bundles / Grouping

I'd like to suggest a feature of Grouping items together into "Packages" so that when I'm selling a client a standard set of items all i need to do is select the package that applies and then if necessary go into that package and modify the item based on if the client wants more or less, or a different variation/modifier on that item

Kind Regards,

Nathan

Re: Feature Request - Item Packages / Bundles / Grouping

Hi Sellers 👋,

We're excited to share that we have recently launched Bundles with Square for Retail Plus!

If you missed it, you can read our announcement here. This feature allows you to combine multiple components into one item bundle and sell those items together while still having the ability to track inventory of the individual components.

This feature is currently available in all regions for Square for Retail Plus sellers. We’ll also be adding this feature for Square Online Plus sellers sometime later in August.

Have a read-through of the linked articles and don't hesitate to reach out to us with any further questions!

Thanks. While it’s good the feature is introduced it’s another cash grab from Square. As a small business we already pay $35 extra for a performance pack just to get features like reviews and then another $44 for marketing pack to get automated emails on customer signup.

To now have to fork out another $109 for Retail plus just to get a bundle option, but still have to pay for the above add ons isn’t sustainable. This is on top of the transaction fees.

Square need to look at their pricing models from the ground up especially for small business.

It is great this change has been made - but it is disappointing that this is a paid feature as a small business owner who has requested this change I cannot afford to pay further fees for a feature that would help to increase sales - and help my customers create the bundles/hampers they are requesting.

@crochetbybrewer not to mention it’s a feature that should be free, as essentially it’s another “item” in your item library. Are they going to start charging for them soon too?

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us here. I understand how subscription fees can quickly add up and become difficult to manage in the current financial climate. We continue to highlight, and share what you say in the community with our team and management. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for but we'll continue to share any updates we receive here @zau90 @crochetbybrewer

I also wish square would refer to things specific to regions.

it mentions the bundles is available to Square Online Plus as well, but we don’t have this plan here???? I’m already paying $30 a month extra here for performance and we don’t get it.

Well seller community......Square has done it again, let us down.

I bit the bullet and decided (against every bone in my body) to reluctantly sign up to Square for Retail Plus (the pack for $109 a month that offers little benefit) just so I could create a bundle pack so that my small business could offer a few packs for fathers day.

What I thought would be simple wasn't!

First, the instructions too create a bundle are so poor, I don't think whoever wrote them actually sat there as a user and followed them, so good luck.

Second, and the most important. We currently offer beard oils (in 3 scents) and car diffusers (in 17 scents). These are the two items I wanted to include in my bundle back for $25 for fathers day. I thought it would be easy to select these items to create a bundle so that then the customer could select the scent they wanted before adding to the checkout. WRONG!!! You can't do it because they're different scents, I'd either have to select the scents and not given the customer a choice or create a bundle with every variation possible!

The only other solution, is to create a whole new item with each as a individual item as an option for the customer to selection but then I don't get inventory tracking.

So seller community, here is another HALF ARSE solution from Square that they charge you for but it doesn't work how you would expect in the real world of E-Commerce when so many other providers offer it.

Hi there, @zau90,

Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback and thoughts regarding the recent change to Item Bundles. It's clear that this change didn't meet your expectations, and I understand your feelings of disappointment.

Regarding your initial comment, I want to clarify that we do offer the Square Online Plus plan to Australian Sellers. For an overview of all current Square Online plans, you can find details on this page.

I am keen on bringing these points to the attention of our Product and Content Teams. Could you please specify where the instructions appear unclear? We are committed to continuously refining and updating our support materials. In fact, I've personally submitted feedback in the past when steps weren't clear or had been updated. Given that this feature is relatively new, we're more than willing to review our instructions to ensure they provide straightforward guidance for the process.

Lastly, regarding the issue with adding certain items to your bundle, I recommend reaching out to flag this directly with our Support Team who will be able to take a look at your item settings in real-time and offer some potential workarounds and recommendations.

You can call support on 1800 760 137 (Mon - Fri, 9 am - 5 pm Melbourne time), or contact us via online chat or email. See the below steps.

1. Sign in to your Square account

2. Head to our contact page https://squ.re/3AWfZs2

3. Go to "Other", then "I don't see my issue"

4. Click "Message us", "Email us" or "Call Us"

Or, if you see the new chatbot help flow, type “support” to bring up a list of contact methods.

Hi @Laurie_

can you explain why I’m paying $35 a month then for Weebly Performance Bundle and an additional $44 a month for a Promote Grow Plan and these are the only ones I see against my account and not the other plan pricing that you have linked?

Does square have multiple different plans that cover the same features at different prices?
