shopventory and square register terminal issue

im testing out shopventory to use at my premises and ive noticed the following issue and wondering if there is a fix

 

we use ipads on the floor and the square registers behind the bar

 

so ive entered in quantity's of all drinks stock and anything that is zero quantity is being greyed out on the ipads and has a pop up saying no stock. which is good

 

BUT on the square register the items are still selectable and its possible to make a sale with no stock.... how can i fix this

 

shopventory is stated as being compatible....ive tried restarting the registers, they are up to date, ive forced a resync through shopventory

 

help would be appreciated
