Why and when will the square terminal work with Square appointments app?

I recently bought a square terminal in hopes to use at my hair salon. I currently have the stand with ipad..I was disappointed to learn after that it doesn’t work with the Square appointment app. Is there any chance this will be available? Is there a way to track each employee and there commission? Or should I sell my terminal?

You can certainly track their commission separately, but you would set that up first in your dashboard:

Lots of companies do use Square at their hair salons and other similar businesses so you shouldn't need to return your terminal.  Hope this helps a little!
