switch countries - disable account - new account ???

I just purchased a square reader... since palpal here no longer works


Just as I went to setup a new account, I realise I must have previously setup an account a while ago, but never completed the setup, let alone use the account


Thats ok, I'll just login & complete setting up my details


but


I cannot change countries (Im in Australia, but the account seems to be USA)


OK then


looks like my only option is to deactivate my account & start again

Its a pain in the Arse, but hey, maybe theres some legal reason...


So:


Deactivate account, lots of warnings about losing my data (fine, since I have no data to lose)


I then try to create a new account (using my business email), I get:


The email address you entered is already in use


OK, I don't particularly want to create an email JUST for square


I also don't want to use my customer-focussed email address either

Do I need to wait until the old account is fully scrubbed,

or am I stuffed, & have to pick some other email address??? if so, this is not a good start to my use of square (not that paypal were that good either)

While we can't take action on accounts via this public forum, our support team can help you free up the email address, so it can be used for your new Australian account. When an account is deactivated, the email address used would still be associated with the deactivated account.
