Hi,

 

We quickly built a Square/Weebly Online Store this week so that people could place contactless/curbside orders for our gelato shop. It's working great and I love that the tickets print out when it's time to make the order.

 

We are also implementing a local delivery service where people can preorder with us and we'll deliver it on Friday night. Right now we're doing it by email to take their item order and we respond back with a Square Invoice to capture payment. Has anyone successfully found a way to do local delivery with the Online Store platform?

 

It would be awesome if besides Pickup or Shipping, merchants could toggle on a Local Delivery button and the merchant could set a few options, such as "Delivery on Friday night, 4-7pm," "Delivery on Saturday afternoon, 12-6pm." Maybe with an option to assign a fee, but that's less important during this emergency response.

We are currently testing Batch Processing in our Beta Community, which may help you out. This is another update to allowing pre-orders on your online store.  We'd love for you to join in the test and provide feedback.

 

To get started:

Please join our Square Online testing group.
Once accepted there are instructions in the group of how to get started in the test.

Hey hey! How can i get it on the testing for the Pre Orders function?

 

I would like to beta test 

Your customers that place orders can set up a specific pick up order.  This option is in your set ups.

Is there any way we can do this while also including tips?

Hi @honeyteahive It's not possible to add a tip to a service at this time. Hopefully we'll have a solution to the specific date feature request in the near future. 

I am guessing by your answer that you don't understand the issue at all. Prep time is not preorder time. If I set prep time at 2 weeks for when an item will be released it will always be two weeks out unless I adjust it every day for every item on preorder. If we could say it would be available on X day that would solve one portion of the problem but there would still be stock issues.

Hi all 👋 Just wanted to hop in and provide a feature update to Square Online orders, if anyone is still looking for this. 

 

We previously launched the ability for Square Online customers to schedule a pickup/delivery for a future date or time. You will need to edit your settings to allow customers to opt into this feature.

 

This will be located in your Square Online Dashboard under Fulfillment > Pickup & Delivery. Then, you'll need to click "edit" next to your location. Under "Order Timing", you'll see the option to allow customers to schedule pickup and/or delivery orders

@_Violet allowing the customer to schedule a pick-up does not fix the need for us a show owners to be able to schedule a specific date/time when the item is available. In fact for pre and special orders it will cause more problems as many customers are going to schedule the item before it is available and then when it is not available when they scheduled it say, "but it said I could pick it up at X time." No, this is not what we're asking for in this thread.
