Function unavailable

I have a couple of item that say function unavailable on the display. How can I fix it, any ideas?

Are you able to provide a screenshot of the error and let us know more about where it's occurring? Eg is it on one of our Point of Sale apps, your dashboard, a website etc?

Hi Seamus,

 

itโ€™s on the square register,, it works on the app on my iPad as well as on the dashboard. I tried to add a picture but it wouldnโ€™t let me. I will try again when I open the shop.

@Scef what Point of Sale are you using?

 

I'm wondering if it might be Square for Restaurants - at the moment the free version is available on Square Register, and that will have some limitations to the functionality vs the Square for Restaurants Plus (the paid version, which incidentally isn't yet available on Register - it's in the works!). From what I can see this would be one possible explanation in any case!

It is the restaurant version but it only does it on a few items

Hey @Scef,

 

It sounds like the reason you're seeing the "function unavailable" message in this case is because you're using the free version of Square for Restaurants, which doesn't offer some features of the paid version. You can see a feature comparison here.

 

If you want to sign out of Square for Restaurants go to "Account" then scroll down to "Sign Out of Square". You can then sign into the classic Square Point of Sale app, or sign in to another POS (EG Restaurants again or Square for Retail).
