Decimal Quantities Beta is live!

We've heard your feedback and we are proud to announce that the beta for decimal quantities is now live for iOS! (Please note that this feature is not yet available on Android or for Invoices)

 

Decimal quantities enables you to sell exact quantities in the unit(s) of measure you use to conduct your business—ounces, pounds, yards, gallons, etc. By previewing decimal quantities on your Square Point of Sale, you will be able to:

 

  • Create items to sell in decimal quantities
  • Check out customers purchasing items in decimal quantities
  • View decimal quantity items in your cart summary
  • Review sales by item quantities
  • Refund items with decimal quantities
  • Issue and display digital and printed receipts with decimal quantities
  • Review your inventory and transactions with decimal quantities in Dashboard

Hi all - Our feature to bill by decimal quantities is starting to roll out now. Keep an eye out for the feature being available in your dashboard over the next week or so.

patiently waiting for the Android and invoicing option to be made avaialble. billing incremental hours is a key factor for our company. If this is not currently a feature of the iOS beta, it should be added.

Hey Evan, I use a couple of iPads to run my register, and we are using Beta.  We were recently excited about the decimal/fraction option on Beta.  Is there any support for Beta using Square Register?

I am interested in decimal units for *hours*. As a freelancer, I don’t sell my time in pounds. Can that feature be added, is there some reason it hasn’t been added yet? 

 

I would be inclined to join the beta if there’s a chance I could use fractional units (other than lbs). Please let me know if there is still a way to join the beta.

You can use any unit.. even create your own (hours) with its own abbreviation (hrs) and choose it’s precision from 1.0 -.00000. Just got it tonight.. they really put some thought into it not just a decimal point. Can’t wait to try it live at market tomorrow.

@SQPhil I haven't been able to find the feature, though I was able to download TestFlight and Squareb7; I'm guessing you need to make an adjustment to my account also? Thanks in advance!

@SQPhil Please enable this feature for my account [Personal Information Redacted].  I see the option to configure pricing by decimal/weight within the square dashboard when logged into my mac, but these changes are not reflected within the app on my ipads or iphones.  I've tested a few items by setting a per pound price in the square dashboard from my mac - when viewing those items on ipad/iphone it still displays as being variable pricing.
