Where to start with adding items?

I am a small home baker and want to add my products the online store and have customers order from it. What is my first step?  I know how to list the items BUT do I click on the "items" icon first or go to "online store"?  Sometimes I have items listed and then they don't show up in both places.

Hello @mistyw and thanks for your question. I know it can be confusing when you're starting out building your website. I'll add some links below to help with some subjects about adding inventory items online. If you are going to mainly sell online, I'd start by clicking on "Online" in your dashboard. If you also sell in person from a register or phone app (at farm markets or a store), you can start from your Item Library and add them there. Just a note, when you add an item into your Item Library, it may not automatically show up in your online store . You'd have to go Online > Items >Site Items. Here you can add a New Item or find an item that you already created.

Like I said, if you're only dealing with online items it might be the least confusing to go right to the Online section.

I hope this helps you get started with your online site. Feel free to ask anything else you need help with. All of the Square sellers in the Community here love to help and this is great place to find answers and get support.

Yes thank you for the help.  I will be using it at the farmer's markets but also would like for people to be able to order for the week.  And when I got on my mobile app, I saw two sets of items, which is when as you suggested, I had added online and ALSO from my item library as I didn't understand.

I will look into this further tomorrow. Thank you.
