Updating a customers prof to include an e-mail doesn't update on open invoices, can't send reminders

Hello,

 

I've found that a few times I need to send out an invoice to a customer who doesn't provide an e-mail address right away, only a phone number, and I typically use a payment schedule.

 

After the first payment, I am unable to "remind the customer" about the next payment because there is no e-mail address. So I go into the customer profile and add it in, but it does not update on any invoices, even if they are still open with outstanding balances, so I can't get the "send a reminder" functionality in these situations. Which leaves me sending awkward e-mails asking for the next payment, when Square can just be the bad guy!

 

Anyone else run into this?

This is definitely a current limitation of Invoices not being editable after taking payments on them. I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers' interest in your request. 

 

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).
