Tax question - 1099 corrected

Hello everyone, I have an issue with square.

we have setup an account on 2016 using the whole ssn number.

IRS claimed the money on that ssn. So we updated tax info using the EIN. square sent a corrected 1099 and we can see it in the dashboard.

But the IRS is still asking for taxes on the SSN.

square says that I have to wait until next filling update which is in August September...not sure they really know.

I realize I’m talking to robots when contacting the support.

any advices ? We need a corrected 1099 for the person who used the SSN.

thank you

Nick!

I am having the same exact problem.

I have reached out to 5 different employees who said they were going to send my information to the tax team.

It has been over 3 months and I still not have solved this simple simple problem.

let me know if you get someone to help you!

Hey @Nick91,

You would need to reach out to our direct CS team on this since our sellers can't answer this from the Community.

We don't have access to account specifics here to help ya. Just to clarify too- we don't have robots for our Support teams if you were messaging in before those are real folks!

You can also email or call us through our Contact Page here

Our CS teams do have to send information over to our tax team that is very small so it's not an immediate process if a previous year needs to be corrected. Just to be transparent! They'll reach out and ask you for more information they'll need to make these corrections.

Thank you for your message.  But the only answer I’ve received is :

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for reaching out! Our next filing will be in August/September.

for me it’s a bit short and it doesn’t help me.

I’ve replied to that email but I have no news.

I understand it’s a small team but that case is very important because that person has trouble with the IRS now and nobody cares.

If you can help me it will be great because you gave me a detailed and clear message.

so if you can contact the right person I can give you the email account infos.

thank you

Hey @Nick91,

I'd recommend giving us a call instead of emailing if you're not hearing back that way.

You can call by using the Contact Page I sent and requesting your customer code.

We don't have any tax team members on the Community so you will need to contact direct support for them to pass the case over for you.
