Is there anyway to contact a customer to let them know that they weren't charged?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: troubleshooting

 

Slaes clerk rang in sale when reader was in sleep mode and then enter as cash sale or custum sale when it should have been credit card . is there anyway to capture customers info to let them know that they weren't charged

if it was a cash sale there is no information to gather as the card wasn't scanned or used for payment.
