HI, you can search the platforms support pages for assistance.

ex.GoDaddy has a step-by-step on how to change

https://www.godaddy.com/help/change-nameservers-for-my-domains-664

or if new provider is ex.Shopify has a support page

https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/domains/add-a-domain/using-existing-domains/connecti...

or if ex.BigCommerce has a support page

https://support.bigcommerce.com/s/article/Changing-Domains

Hope This Helps!

The error I'm getting is from weebly.com not from the hosting company.  I think weebly.com/ squareup isn't allowing me to update it.

HI, ok, is your domain hosted on Square? or with a domain provider?

If with Square and you requested a change with Square Support it can take 7 to 14 business days.

If you have access to your domain at a domain provider, ex.GoDaddy and can change the nameservers yourself, it would take a few hours and then populate correctly.

A domain change or update is not instant.

Hello Goldeneye, thanks for your reply.

Yes, I have the domain hosted with square but was transferred to weebly.com couple of months ago. I want to build the website with another hosting company but when I try changing the nameservers to the other hosting company I get the failed to update error.

HI, I am still confused.  Square and Weebly are one.  I understand you want your store on another hosting company.  So you would need to contact Square to request to have your domain unlocked.  Please note it takes 7 to 14 business days for this to happen.

Square Support page

https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/7025-unlock-your-domain-and-get-the-epp-code

You can try to contact Customer Support with this link.  Monday to Friday.

Contact Customer Support

https://squareup.com/help/us/en/contact?panel=FAB456B04971&skip_unit_select=true

You will get a few options to contact, click Call Us, a new browser window will open with phone number and customer code.

You must be logged into your account and is best on a laptop or desktop.  Phone app sometimes displays unavailable at times.

Hope This Helps!

Thanks for your response Goldeneye. My actual issue is updating the nameservers in my squareup account.

I recently transferred my domain name to the new squareup and when I try updating the nameservers to point to hostgator I get a " failed to update nameservers ". What could be the issue?
