Create access to the FULL 16 digit electronic gift card number

There is absolutely NO reason why the account administrator should not be able to access the full 16 digit electronic gift card number. It is essential to providing quick & accurate customer service - something I'm finding impossible to do on Square.

There are multiple inquiries regarding this feature that lead me to believe that this is a WIDE SPREAD problem with smaller vendors.

Also, under >gift card >overview, the search box needs options i.e. recipients name, purchasers name, date range of purchase, amount of purchase.

please, please fix it.  We cannot look like stupid people to our customers.  We need gift card complete number, name of the recipient, contact information like email.  It is terrible that this is still an issue.

We need the full gift card number to charge the client using the gift.  I have many clients come in with only a schedule confirmation and no way to enter payment for the service.  This then makes it difficult to follow up on that particular gift leaving an open balance on the gift as well as an incomplete payment for service. This is a serious problem.  The client scheduling a gift should at least be required to enter the gift card to reserve the appointment.  Much like having a credit card required to schedule an appointment.

Since it's been three years now, I'm wondering if this will ever change? How is this sensitive info when your a solo practitioner or when companies like Vagaro and MindBody pos show the entire redemption code. I had tried to contact support for the above advice, and the only way to get the full numbers is by changing merchants. The full number would be very helpful when trying to determine the balance on a gc. When a customer has multiple gc on their account, we can't check the balance to use up the smaller balance first. 

Ive used this work around several times. The only thing, besides the pain, is that the customer will get an email that their email has been changed.

YES!!! THIS 1000% It is absolutely ridiculous!

So 2 things here.  I do love this option because it did work for me.  I got an email with the full GC # ending with te 4 digits we can otherwise see. 

HOWEVER, I've read that the purchaser gets a notification that their email address has changed (because I sent it to myself).

And the end result and is so frustrating I don't understand is that the GC number appears as Non Existent when I try to use it to check out the appointment!  I've typed the number all together and with a space every 4 digits.

Am I also supposed to "add the GC" to my system now in order to use it?  Doesn't make sense to me. 

Thoughts?  Anyone else have this happen?  Thank you.

WHY IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE? We need access to the information to process transactions OR Square MUST make it possible to charge with the limited information (last 4 digits) we are able to see for the gift card. Clients lose gift cards, people purchase egift cards for someone and lose the information, or clients simply come in and don't remember their physical gift cards. THERE ARE PLENTY OF REASONS!

I feel the same way!  And it’s left on deaf ears.
