I have had a customer message me through the online order format but, can I start messaging them first?

Hi @sc1216. At this time, you can not initiate a text message. Customers must message you first, which is an implicit agreement on their part that they are open to texting with you. Also Appointments and Loyalty allow messaging, but those customers agree to allow text communications in order to use those features.
