Selling digital files that are automatically emailed to purchaser.

I would like to see a feature on square.

I would like to sell downloadable digital files, where an automated email goes out with the file link right after check out.  I would be able to have one more way to have sales in my business.  I am a hypnotist and don't have a way to sell digital files through my website.  I don’t know how to sell digital files through square.

Is this going to be an option in the near future?  I am wanting to list digital products but really need them to be able to auto-ship with purchase.

We are very much in need of this, sending out a manual email to 1000s of digital purchases is simply not feasible for us. Thank you Square Team!

Hey, I am a bit late to this conversation - but your situation isn't as simple as using Square to deliver the files even if it supported that feature.  Any download can be shared, whether from Dropbox or OneDrive or any other website.

One solution is to host the media on your website and stream it to customers the way YouTube does, but with password-protected access.  That way there is no download, the customer can only view the files when they are signed in and connected to your site.

As a photographer I've struggled with this same issue, and we use watermarks that cover much of the image to help reduce theft before purchase - but once a photo is bought & downloaded the customer has it and can pass it along as much as they want.  We've just accepted that as part of our business model (and pricing) since it is almost impossible to prevent.

Good input. In my scenario, I need to deliver unique digital files to a client. I usually share a gallery on my website with watermark and low res images so less of a chance of someone taking and using them. They are unique to the client anyway, but I still want to prevent less theft if I can. For Square, I want to have the download link that I generate from Dropbox pay-walled until the invoice is settled. I'd like to be able to pop in a unique download link for the client as part of the invoice process and then when they check out, the link becomes visible once payment is made or e-mailed to them as part of the receipt/payment confirmation.

Is there a timeline on implementing a digital product auto-send feature?

All other POS hosts that I have researched offer this feature.

Please provide an update or timeline.

I do not want to switch, but like many other digital product sellers, I NEED this feature.

At the moment we don't have an ETA for when or know if this feature will be implemented, unfortunately.

Why is this not an automatic feature to send out the PDFs afterward? I preparing a e-baking book for my store and I literally don't have the time to manually send out the emails.

Its been over a year since the issue of needing automatic emails for digital downloads was brought up. Why hasn't this issue been fixed, this is extremely simple to do. 

You are forcing your customers to use other marketplaces to sell their digital files as we DONT have time to send out manual emails for possibly hundreds of orders.

Why hasn't the automatic emails for digital products been implemented yet? This thread was over a year ago. This is unacceptable and I cannot sell digital products in my store because I don't have the time for all the manual emailing of the download links.

This is a simple thing to implement and should be done immediately!
