This doesn't seem to be an active request because I can't comment on the thread at https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Read-only-archive-Square-Payroll/How-do-you-delete-a-team-member-... which is what the subject links me to as an existing request.

 

It's been 6 years of discussion since this wasn't submitted.  I mean, really, why hasn't been done.  There is no legal obligation to keep these employees on the books, and having duplicates, old contractors, dead people and all show up in reports and my "inactive" employee list is ridiculous.  Please fix this.

I have add the same team member twice by mistake so I know I cant delete it but why i cant merge it instead

Not sure the exact reason why an employee can't be deleted, maybe for reporting or analytical purposes. But you can deactivate an employee instead.

I think I was suggesting to merge team members when they are enter twice by mistake. My OCD is driving crazy seeing the same person being deactivated lol😜

Ah I can understand that feeling @mindfulsoulloft! Sorry that we don't have that option for you.

I get not being able to delete an employee for whatever reason but square still recognizes these deactivated accounts as team members. Im now running a business by myself and i cant use appointments because square says i have 3 team members instead of 1.

Square doesn't give a sh.t about our needs. They get their commissions and hire a couple of reps to respond to all problems "we are sorry for the inconvenience" bla bla.

It is ridiculous I can't delete an employee.

Any update on this? We have an employee entered twice and cant fix it because his email is associated with one and his social with another. We definitely need a delete option.  

After the employee been gone a year we no longer need their information for taxes yet we still can't delete them.  This is something Square needs to fix ASAP.  What about liability issues with Square retaining someone's SS number, banking info etc.  FIX THIS SQUARE!

So I added a team member a long time ago when i was trying to figure out if i could somehow let vendors in my shop run their own inventory and such, and then realized I was not able to delete the person i added, when it was just a name...no other info at all added in. Now I have a "team member" who is not and never was an employee, and I cannot delete it, and guess what taxes have been filed this yea, and square did not supply me with anything I need for taxes, whatever that means...i guess they keep track of your employees on their taxes? hahah anyway, I wish i could delete that name. it is annoying and means nothing for anyone at all

My deactivated team members still get emails about scheduling. How do I get this to stop?
