Feature Request: Add "Go To Checkout" shortcut to open drawer process.

Greetings,

 

Please add a "Go To Checkout" shortcut to the screen you see immediately after starting/opening your cash drawer in the morning.  The next logical step in this process would be to start immediately start selling something.  Better yet, just redirect the user to that screen automatically after Step #2 occurs.

 

  1. Open virtual cash drawer and enter starting amount.
  2. Open physical cash drawer and put in physical cash.
  3. Open Checkout screen and start making sales; hopefully!

As it is, you have to navigate away from the screen you're on to Square App > Checkout.  Granted, this is only one click away on the menu, but it is still an extra, unnecessary step in the morning...especially if you're running late!

Please add a shortcut button for "Open Cash Drawer" to the screen that you see immediately after typing in the amount and OPENING / STARTING your cash drawer in the morning.  After having told Square that you're starting your cash drawer with $200 (for example), then the next logical step would be to open the physical drawer and put the physical cash into it.

 

As it is, you have to navigate the menu tree to Square App > Settings > Cash Drawer > Test Cash Drawer.  This is the only way I can find to open it and is rather annoying.

 

An alternative would be to just forgo the button altogether with open drawer signal that would  automatically open it.

 

The same thing should be done for when you CLOSE the drawer at the end of the day; just in reverse.

FYI, we're using an iPad (6th generation) with 13.7 (software version) paired via Bluetooth to a STAR mPOP-K0338 cash drawer.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know you'd be interested in seeing a new button added to the drawer screens when using the Square Point of Sale app, @Flopbot

 

If something changes in relation to the way you navigate home from these screens, we'll be sure to pop back here with an update!
