Contactless Reader will no longer Pair with phone.

I have the Square Contactles reader.  Have been using it for a while. However, recently it has stopped the pairing process.  I have written square about this and they said to update the phone app and phone OS, which I have.  Then make sure blue tooth is on, then turn it off and turn it on again.  None of this has worked.  I have charged the contactless reader to see if that would help.

Accorting to instructions I have attempted a forced shutdown of the reader (holding button 20 seconds) and turned the reader back on.  Did not work.

  The symptons on the readers are:

1. No green lights at all.

2. No amber lights at all.

3  The only lights that work are blinking red lights. Usually all lights at once blinking.  It appears at times that the red lights are comming on in quick sequence left to right and of course the whole collection of lights blinking on and off.  The blinking goes on indefinately.  I am at a loss of what to do.

My best guess is that the problem is in the Reader itself.

I would appreciate any suggestions or help.

Sorry for the frustration here!

 

Typically a red light blinking indicates a low battery. Can you make sure the reader is fully charged?
