New contactless/chip reader keeps failing to read chips after a short time..
I've bought two new contactless chip readers, the small square ones.. both stop reading chips within a week or so.
I've done all the troubleshooting steps...
Charge reader
Hold the button in til red
Uninstalled square on phone
Cleared cache in Bluetooth and square app
Restarted and tried everything thrice over
There is nothing lodged in the readers..
Contactless still works.
Is it just bad luck on the readers hardware?
Thanks

Oh man, @almostannoyed that's so rough when this happens.
I can tell you that I've had multiple contactless readers over the years and haven't had any major issues with them at all, so this isn't a usual for the hardware.
Especially if you just bought them and have gone through all the troubleshooting steps, I bet (but can't guarantee) that you'd be eligible for warranty replacements. Give customer support a call and tell them all this and they should get new ones on the way, or at least do what they can to get you up and running again.
Sorry for all the troubles!
