This was a major headache for me. I kept having the Square Stand disconnect and reconnect. I was unable to use the printer, barcode scanner, cash drawer. Ordered replacement Square Stand, same problem. Finally read this post and realized my Tripp Lite TLP604 surge protector was the problem. Once I replaced the surge protector, everything was working normally. This should definitely be mentioned when troubleshooting with support. Thanks for the post @djp !
