It does look like our engineers are aware of this issue and it is being addressed. But there is no ETA yet on the fix. In the meantime, our team is suggesting using our integration with Shippo. With the app marketplace integration, orders can be fulfilled on Shippo with relatively discounted rates. The app marketplace integration is free. Additionally, you can continue to have access to use USPS, FedEx, or DHL - and can connect your own preexisting UPS accounts through Square Online.
