WHy do I need a social security number if we are a business?

The school district would have an FEIN number.  You must have a Social Security or FEIN number for the 1099 that square is required to file with the IRS if you do over $500 in sales.

Hi @DiscoveryCafe! Welcome to the Community.

And thanks for the assist too @MichiganFarmsta!

Every account that signs up has to have an individual person attached to it for security purposes and goes through an identity verification process due to card processing regulations.

Once you've signed up, you can add your EIN to your Tax Form Information after in the Account & Settings portion of your Dashboard.

That way the taxes will be reported there and not to you personally. But the SSN is just needed at initial sign-up for the account holder information.
