YouTube video shows as private

Hello all, I was able to put one YouTube video into my Weebly page successfully. Unfortunately, when I try to put another one on my page, I get a message that it can't show the video because it is private. On YouTube, the video is public. I have tried using the share link and the URL with the same result. Any advice is appreciated!

Hey there @HiTeresa  I want to welcome you to the Seller Community!

I am sorry to hear that you're having trouble with embedding a YouTube video on your Square Online Site. I would like to take a closer look at this for you. Can you share your website's URL(domain) and the link to the YouTube video that is giving you a hard time?

I will keep an eye out for your reply.

It's happening to me too.. even though I have several that work from previous edits. Now I cannpot add any new videos without the "private" message... even though they are all public on Youtube.

Are you trying to upload YT shorts?
I had the same issue and discovered that the YT widget does not work for Shorts.
Instead, do a Embed code and get the code from the option in YT

Thanks for the tip! I gave it a go, but to no avail.
Definitely a "shorts" issue.

This is the url of an old short that works on weebly:

https://youtu.be/8alNAIn2Rog

But it seems they now have a "Shorts" directory because this sort of URL doesn't work in weebly:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pkZ_Myz7Vco

I tried copying the first (working) HTML embedded code:

<iframe width="337" height="219" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tA3pKhuSILM" title="Dash Robot Chasey! Who can catch Robotman?" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

But no matter how I edit it with the newer short URL, it still doesn't work in weebly.

I replaced  "https://www.youtube.com/embed/tA3pKhuSILM"

with

https://www.youtube.com/embed/pkZ_Myz7Vco

and

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/embed/pkZ_Myz7Vco

and

https://www.youtube.com/embed/shorts/pkZ_Myz7Vco

But all had error messages. Any advice?
