chip reader won't connect

I have an RCA 10 Viking Pro android tablet that is supposed to be compatible with all your readers (except stand) but when I plug it in the app recognises it but says it cannot connect to it.

We often solve connection problem by clicking the "forget this reader" then starting from scratch as if it was really a different reader. Hope this helps, good luck.

I had been having a similar issue with mine after a phone update. Turns out, the phone now restricts the volume when something gets plugged into the headset jack, for hearing protection.  After connecting the reader, I have to press and hold the up volume button repeatedly to override this, and then the reader connects.

I'm using a Huawei Mate P20 Pro. I have developer options switched off but square won't connect.

My phone is listed as compatible any ideas?
