Offering packages in appointments

I know that this has mentioned multiple time over the past few years, but when will packages be offered in appointments?????
I keep seeing the same excuse of "thank you for your suggestion, it will be looked into", however nothing has happened.
There are plenty of other websites that are implementing "packages" so why it is so hard for square to do it as well?
I have seen some suggestions of how to manually keep track but it does become tedious work having to do this for all of those clients. Plus all of the features we are currently having to pay for is adding up especially for small business owners such as myself, you would think that a package feature would be included in the cost.

I'm not seeing the other threads about appointment packages in the redesigned feature request system and the old threads are locked. This continues to be an issue for us. The gift card solution does not work since people often get a discount on packaged services in the beauty industry. That means you can't charge someone for a packaged facial at the normal price when they check out.

Hi any updates about packaged appointments? My salon does a 10 mani package, meaning a client could buy 10 manicures in advance at a discounted price. Curious if square offers an option to track these appointments.

It would be great if we can sell multiple sessions for a service in our service library and have a feature that will keep the session count in the client library and at check out.

@JJ_  I did that and all it does is create a new thread, just like this one. This was supposedly on the development roadmap for 2021, but obviously something happened. Please, there is no need to thank us anymore for taking the time to share our interest. Hundreds of people have done that for more than three years. We're asking now not out of general interest, but in an effort to avoid shifting our entire software. It's a lot of work, but at some point we're going to have to do it if this feature is not a priority for Square.

@essentialnails Square's official response up to this point is that yes they do offer this functionality, through gift cards. Which is a nightmare and unprofessional. OR they "support" this through the item inventory where you have to create a new item PER CUSTOMER with an inventory amount for the number of services they purchase. Alternatively, you could create one item for packaged services with an option for each client.

 

The administrative burden for either of these options is awful, it's harder for us to manage client purchases, and it makes it harder for the client to track their own progress with their sessions. We also look unprofessional as we fumble through the website looking for the right information about how many packages they have left.

Appreciate you bringing this to the Ideate Board as a feature request since we updated our submission system. This particular feature isn't available just yet.

 

Our Product Team shifting the roadmap can cause some delays in feature request, but we will update the status on this one as soon as more information become available. 

 

Could you drop the thread you saw that was locked? I can merge these together, so the Product Team can see the numerous sellers who wish for this feature too.

I would also like to request a package feature!  Right now I'm using a spreadsheet and it is so much work.  

Other booking software geared toward service based establishments have implemented an option for multi-buy when booking. I would love to see this with square. It would save me alot of time with spreadsheets and tracking for myself and others I know. 

 

For example. My number one service is brazilian sugaring. My clients come regularily every 4-6 weeks. I would love for them to be able to purchase a 6 pack at a reduced cost. As it stands I do sell it this way but then have notes on their file and a spread sheet to track and I manually deduct as we go. I would love a feature where it is tied to their account and deducts as they come in automatically.

I understand this would be a good addition for Appointment-based businesses, and I appreciate all of the business insight you've provided. This feature request is not currently planned. However, just because this feature request is not planned doesn't mean it cannot be added in the future. Our Product Team can review the request to see how it would fit into the roadmap going forward.
