Can I install Star Micronics Kitchen Buzzer/Ticket Alarm (BU01-24-A)?

I am using Star Micronics TSP100 (LAN) for my restaurant. I just purchased a kitchen buzzer but not sure how to get it to work with Square POS. Does anyone here know how to configure the printer to activate the buzzer upon receiving new kitchen ticket? Thank you.

This crazy been over 2 year now and square can find Solution for this .. not Buzzer and I get told to buy star 700 and I bought with a lot money and still not work not on 700 or TSP143IIIL. + the sound for alert 🚨 when online order coming we can hear it if you are not close from square or iPad. We need alert like doordash or Uber.

During this pandemic our online sales are more important than ever to get right. We can't be late, and missing a ticket really really leaves a bad impression with the customer.

 

We missed an order yesterday. I literally just grabbed the printer, set it up next to my computer, downloaded the SDK and in under 20 minutes I had the thing beeping on command.

 

PLEASE get your developers to have another look at this. A simple check box to allow us to opt in to send the control character (to open the cash drawer) along with the ticket is ALL that is needed.

 

20 minutes.  And then you'll have hundreds of kitchen staff happy.

BakerJames is correct! Although I think it would make "thousands" of kitchen staff members happy, plus front of house staff as well as management. 

 

It continues to perplex me why Square seemingly has no fix to this, particularly during the pandemic where the bar and restaurant industry need every possible tool they can get to survive. I would think this would be elevated to a top priority months ago. I'm just one of thousands of end users, what do I know?

 

Thing is... the programming to do this is already within Square for the receipt printers. 2 minutes to copy, paste, and enable that programming to the ticket printers. The signal that opens the cash drawer is the exact same signal that activates the printer buzzer.

 

Come on Square, we beg of you to resolve this quickly. The bar and restaurant industry desperately needs your timely help and support with this very basic necessity! Most of us have already lost the shirt right off our backs and are desperately trying to hold the industry together from total collapse.

we need buzzer.for everything online order and takeout order they need to do something been two years

Is there still no solution to this? We really need some type of audible notification so that our staff is not missing orders!

It’s 2021, issue is still not resolved. Will there ever be a solution?

@Helen We bought a new Star printer for the kitchen, bought and installed a buzzer, and it's not working for us. We need this functionality. It is only buzzing for receipts for cash sales. We need it for every ticket and for online orders. Where are you square? 3 years now and nothing. We pay you every day, you know.

Welcome to square it been more then 3 year. I been with them over 6 years now and I’m still waiting for same options we need someone to saying when is going to be happening you guys losing customers and you need to add pay later option on online order too please. This crazy. Customer need to pay at store with cash or something. This two future been over 5 years and no one want to move and saying something. Every time I call they told me this is future request and is coming very soon 🔜
