Can I install Star Micronics Kitchen Buzzer/Ticket Alarm (BU01-24-A)?

Can I install Star Micronics Kitchen Buzzer/Ticket Alarm (BU01-24-A)?

I am using Star Micronics TSP100 (LAN) for my restaurant. I just purchased a kitchen buzzer but not sure how to get it to work with Square POS. Does anyone here know how to configure the printer to activate the buzzer upon receiving new kitchen ticket? Thank you.

Another solution is the Epson TM-T88VI and the add-on buzzer OT-BZ20. The buzzer sounds a nice tone with every ticket printed, and the volume and tone is adjustable. Although we got the printer when we signed up as a virtual kitchen under Ordermark, when I put this on my POS network it also showed up in Square, so now I use it a Kitchen printer as well as for Ordermark tickets. Works great!

Those of you who need an alert on ticket printing, try a sensor.

It won't require the "cash drawer" trigger like the default buzzer in the printer.

This paper sensor buzzer works with the TSP100(143).

As soon as a slip gets next to the sensor, the timer starts.

I set the delay to 10 seconds before it starts beeping in our kitchen.

I had to actually put some tape covering the speaker it was pretty loud!

It draws power from the printer, so it's really set it and forget it.

@Around , thank you for your recommendation. This works for us, and I don't think @Square is ever going to listen to their customers about supporting buzzers.

For @Mazika0777 , you have to only have jumper 3 in place on the 108 unit - no jumper at position 1 or 2 and you also have to open the paper sensor unit and move the bottom jumper to the top (position 1 to position 3) - hope that helps.

Hello, it says it draws power from cash drawer port but this would be on the kitchen printer that is not near the cash drawer. Where do you plug it into?

Just buy this https://www.beaglehardware.com/posbuzzsnsr.html

and work with any printer

Thanks but that didn't answer the question. The buzzer your reference indicates that it draws power from the cash drawer.  This is a LAN printer that is not plugged into a port directly so not sure where to plug this into. From the pic it looks like you have to plug it into some kind of port like the Square one that is by the register.

Hi @Shari1,

Maybe I can clear this up for you.

STAR TSP models have different connection types: LAN, USB, WIFI, Bluetooth, etc.  This may change which connection port(s) are on the device.

Regardless of how it connects to the POS, it will still have the cash drawer port, they all do.

That is the port you plug the buzzer into.

I use this with a LAN model and it works.
