I would like to add a previously removed employee back into the payroll system but each time I attempt to do so i receive an error stating that an employee already exist with that social security number.

Hi @atct2017 , Square Payroll does not allow two employees to have the same SSN as this could cause issues with tax filings and W-2s. In this case, it sounds like you need to reactivate the employee's payroll profile vs. creating a new profile for that employee. Your active employees should appear in black while your inactive employees should appear in gray on the Payroll Team section of your Payroll dashboard.
