Retail: Why do some of my variable inventory items with positive item count show up in red?

Some of the base items (it only seems to be products with variations) with positive inventory counts in our 6000+ item library display in red which makes it appear that they are out of stock. All of the variations have positive inventory counts. Why are those numbers red and what does it mean?

Hi @alvasllc, I checked with a Retail specialist and they confirmed you'll see red numbers in the following cases:

1. When an item has sold into the negative.
2. Or, if you have a stock alert set to 1 but no actual stock level set for that item (stock = none).

If you're not planning to sell the items that you don't currently have stock for, you could consider turning off the alerts for the time being.
