Feature Request: BOGO (Buy one, get one) and other automatic discounts via my Square Online website

The title of this post has been edited from the original:  Can automatic discounts be used on the online store?

When I create automatic discounts, such as quantity or amount discounts, they work perfectly well on my point of sale but do not work on my online store.

Can anyone help me?

Hello there!

I appreciate all your patience while we work to get this feature implemented. The beta testing for this feature has currently been delayed. Our team is working very hard on the backend to resolve some roadblocks that have prevented this from going. If you would still like to join the Beta for this request you can certainly still do so. I know this is incredibly hard but I appreciate you all for hanging in there! 🙏

Currently, the Online Store doesn't support Buy-one-get-one coupons. However, you can assign standard discounts to certain categories. From the site editor,  visit Items > Coupons > Add Coupon. You'll find an option to choose eligible categories under Discount Details at the bottom of the page.

How realistic is it that this will be available in 2022, has work actually started on this feature, how long do you foresee it taking?

I ask this because we are in the process of setting up a site on Shopify but would rather use square online along with Square POS if this feature was available soon. We were going to move our POS from square once our Shopify site was set and we were happy they could fulfil our needs.

We are subscribed to the 'Product Updates' page but haven't seen anything relating to this specific feature?

There isn't much I can tell you right now besides that there is good progress in the development @TSCS. I can also suggest you join our Beta Community as most likely this will be released to beta before releasing to the public.

Hi!

I'm working on doing a BOGO sale online. I see that there is the option to do this using my square dashboard but even with the toggle on for automatic application of this sale, when I test it, it doesn't work on my website. Last conversation I saw about this in the seller community was in 2020. Any update on using automatic application of a BOGO sale online? Thanks so much!

Can the discounts offered on the POS be brought across to the online side so the offers on store are the same as online and conversely to make the pos and online experience an omni channel experience

I offer a 2 for $50 special on my T-shirts at events. I’d like to be able to do that online as well but see no way to enforce having 2 shirts in the cart before applying the coupon or discount. I think this would be a great feature to have on the system.

You could probably do that through modifiers.  There is an option to force a number within the modifier itself.
